The people that have influenced my life the most,
Long Term Friends
These are friends that I have known for over about 2 years they have stayed with me through thick and thin and have never let me down. They are always there for me in times of need even thought we may argue quite a bit we never let it get in the way of our friendships. Since April 2004 I discovered who my real friends are and who just didn’t really care. These are the select few that stayed with me and helped me pull through that difficult time. I might explain the significance of April 2004 another time but it’s difficult for me to talk about it.
Neil Sturman
Ok I think i forgot about Neil when I do the shout out thing on my first post, iv know Neil the longest of any of my friends but we don’t see each other that much anymore as he is in the army. Although he is very eccentric, sex crazed and doesn’t really fit in with my current group of friends (all of us geeks) he still remains on of my greatest friends. His cunning manor and bodging capabilities have probably helped to make me who I am today. And if it wasn’t for the parties round his then I would be a completely different person.
Mitchell Flewelling
Ok I think if spelt the surname wrong but anyone reading this will know who is. Mitch is one of the reasons I am as geeky as I am. If it was not for Mitch I probably wouldn’t have meet half the people on this list I also would probably have never start D and D or role playing of any kind. I also would not have started the wonders of Magic: The Gathering. I have always take to the position of secret keeper of someone people can talk to about anything with out judging them and give them advice no matter what group of friends I’m with. This was no different when I was with Mitch and the gang but Mitch was always the one I could go to when I had problems this was I nice relief. Mitch introduced me to Allyson and well that’s another story. Mitch was also the person that introduced me to Middlesbrough Gamers Club. Unfortunately I don’t see Mitch any more and I barely ever talk to him online this is because he moved back to Canada a while ago and we just lost touch. Mitch, if you read this get in touch please.
Matthew Flewelling
Mat is Mitch’s brother. The pair of them shaped me a lot it is quite difficult for me to write about Mat and it is a real shame. We were not very close to start even when the Bladewars group formed we were still not very close. It was only when Mat disappeared from secondary school that we started to get to know each other properly. Again he introduced to a lot of things I would not have known about otherwise a bit like Mitch and the canoeing trips were unforgettable. Unfortunately Mat moved along with Mitch we have spoken online but not for a long time.
Simon Swinbank
I met Simon through Mat and Mitch and we connected pretty much straight away as we were both new to the whole RPG thing and particularly Magic the one thing that remains common between us. Simon is the only on of the original group I see now. When me and Simon get together it is like a clash of nature if it was not for the power if gaming we would probably not be friends but I am glad we are. Simon and I argue a lot but we always pull through it. He is always there for me to test a new deck against and have a chat about 24 (the best TV show on earth). Again it is difficult to write about Simon. Recently he has made friends with the GDCI (God Dam Carl International, just don’t ask). And that has allowed me to meet a whole new group of friends some of which will be mentioned in my recent friends list. When I sit and think of Simon all I can think of is the sleep over and me him and Tom lying on a floor, I will not go any further, if any of the group are reading this they will know why. Ohh and one incident me, Simon and Mitch swore we would keep between us and it has stayed there for along time. The secluded step, or was it lonely sandbar, you know what I mean Simon lol.
Tom Sandford
Tom Tom Tom what can I say about Tom, Tom is one of those people you meet and instantly like. He is currently away at uni so I don’t see him very often anymore but we are still friends again I met Tom through Mat and Mitch. Tom was the person that kept me together through my first year of college and one of the few that help pull me through the incident at secondary school. If it wasn’t for Tom I probably would have had very few friends in my first year at prior and I would like to thank him for that. Even when the rumours started to reach the rest of his friends and some of them, ok one of them, started to doubt my integrity and started to believe them, Tom stuck with me and try to pull her round. I would like to thank Tom as he helped me a lot last year it would not have been the same without any of my friends, since April 2004, but Tom in particular.
Martyn Stockley
It has been quite difficult for Martyn to remain friends with me as he was very close to the incident and due to this his parents keep trying to pull him away from me, and a lot of his older friends such as Matthew (not Flewelling) fell out with me over the issue, but he has remained close. Martyn has always been difficult for me to get along with, I don’t know why but he always seamed to pull my strings a lot and iv almost lost my temper with him on a number of occasions but recently he has stop and we are getting on a lot better now and I can’t explain why, maybe he has matured or maybe iv just gotten use to him I just don’t know. Martyn has had a lot of trouble with his family last year; I won’t go in to detail as it’s not my place to. But that is probably what stopped me and Tom just leaving him to his own devices. He again is always there for a game of magic or the occasional game of chess and he has now integrated him self with my new group of friends from Redcar.
Emma and Barry should probably fill this list but I have a different place in mind for them as I don’t think they fit in to this list properly.
